Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday My Personal Best, Happy birthday to you!

Can you believe it is My Personal Best’s first birthday already? It is a year since My Personal Best launched it’s website on the 29th of October 2010.

My Personal Best aims to inspire young people to be their best and support them through their recovery journey from various mental health illnesses. As Hannah (past My Personal Best volunteer) said at the conference in Brighton earlier this year, My Personal Best is the only place where you will be praised for going shopping on your own!

The site allows you to sign up for and create your own personal challenge. Here, you can set yourself goals and document your achievements, however, small. It’s for you. But other users will also congratulate you as well and support you on your way.

There are various blogs from volunteers – our first documented the story of My Personal Best and adventures in Australia from me, who was an international correspondent for a few months! There are blogs on conferences, award ceremonies and users experiences

If you want information or ways to improve your self esteem, there are many downloadable resources such as building confidence, exercising safely and coping techniques.

Or if you want to interact with others, post a topic on our message boards or to be involved in a live chat!

My Personal Best’s twitter account currently has 589 followers which is great news! We’ve had excellent response from people and charities, congratulating My Personal Best on its website, the idea behind it and our inspirational tweets. Yes, it is moi – Rachel - behind the #thinkpositive tweets. You don’t know how much it means to me that so many of you love the quotes, thoughts and ideas I tweet! I’m open to all suggestions too J I’ve recently done motivational songs, 100 ways to improve your self-esteem and things I learned during my recovery.

World Mental Health Day had a great response too with charities recommending My Personal Best as a positive tool and celebrities like Danni Minouge, Miranda Kerr and Crystal Renn retweeting our tweets.

Then of course My Personal Best recently won the award in the charity/not for profit category at the Some Comms Awards and won Exciting Newcomer at the Nominet Awards. My Personal Best has also been nominated in the 2011 Children and Young People Now Awards.
